Wichita State made up one-third of the All-Missouri Valley Conference women’s basketball team Wednesday when senior Jessica Diamond and sophomore Alex Harden were named to the team.

Harden was also named to the Valley’s all-defensive team a day ahead of the opening of the conference tournament in St. Charles, Mo. Wichita State is the No. 1 seed and will play at noon Friday against Thursday’s Missouri State-Drake winner.

Other first-teamers are Creighton freshman Marissa Jansing, Northern Iowa senior Jacqui Kalin, Creighton junior Sarah Nelson, Illinois State senior Jamie Russell.
