A man who claimed he was armed robbed a west Wichita QuikTrip and then rode off on a bicycle early Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The robbery occurred just before 5:30 a.m. at 324 S. West, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. The man came into the convenience store and handed the clerk a note stating it was a robbery. He also indicated he had a gun.
After getting the money from the clerk, the robber then left the area heading north on a bike, the supervisor said.
The victim told police the alleged robber is a white man in his 50s with gray hair and a full beard. He has a medium build and is about 5-foot-8. He wore a black jacket, tan pants and a blue stocking cap. He had electrical tape on his fingers.
