An SUV struck a school bus Monday morning at 29th Street North and Amidon, sending four children who were passengers in the SUV to the hospital with minor injuries, Wichita police Lt. Brian White said.

The bus didn’t have any passengers at the time, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. The driver of the SUV also was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, White said.

About 8:30 a.m., the SUV entered the intersection and struck the school bus. The bus had the right of way, White said. Preliminary investigation indicates the SUV driver ran a red light, he added.
