A Yates Center woman is dead after a head-on collision Friday afternoon in Coffey County, east of Emporia.
Lucinda M. Burnett, 47, was driving a 2005 Ford Taurus north on U-75 about 6½ miles north of New Strawn when she crossed the center line and struck a Ford F-150 pickup headed south, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash report.
Burnett was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident happened shortly before 3 p.m.
The driver of the truck — 55-year-old Joseph C. Rottinghaus of Hutchinson — was taken to Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka for treatment.
