Furniture that’s witnessed history is the topic of a new exhibit opening next Friday at the Kansas Museum of History in Topeka.
Items in the exhibit include the desk and chair used by Kansan Ed Asner on The Mary Tyler Moore Show. Asner, who grew up in Kansas City, played editor Lou Grant on the show.
Other items in the exhibit include a pink washer and dryer set from the 1950s, and items used by Kansas governors through the years. The objects span the time period from the territorial days of Kansas up to the recent past.
The exhibit runs through Sept. 22. The museum is at 6425 Southwest Sixth Ave. in Topeka.
