Wichita’s municipal court will offer amnesty for people who have outstanding warrants.
The amnesty program will waive the $50 warrant fee for those who voluntarily appear to resolve warrants in municipal court between April 1-5, said Donta Martin, court administrator.
Warrants for courts outside of Wichita are not included in the amnesty, Martin said. Also excluded are cases in district or federal court.
“It’s going to be very helpful to us,” Martin said.
The court serves an estimated 23,000 warrants a year, he said, and the amnesty program allows court officials to trim that load by about 10 percent.
