Wildlife, Parks and Tourism hosts open house and free entrance at state parks

The Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism is hosting an open house Saturday and free entrance to all the state parks

Some of the parks will be hosting special events. For example, Cedar Bluff is holding a free hot dog feed from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cheney will host cabin tours. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

At El Dorado, the park office will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The El Dorado park staff is offering courtesy boat inspections, and cabin tours upon request and availability. The El Dorado park is also having a skins and skull program at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

At each of the parks, visitors can purchase off-season camping permits. On April 1, camping prices increase to prime-season levels.
