Pedestrian hit by SUV in south Wichita

A man has been hospitalized after being struck by an SUV in south Wichita on Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The victim, reported as a man in his late 30s, was struck in an eastbound lane of Mount Vernon near Terrace shortly before 9 a.m., a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. He suffered potentially serious injuries and was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment.

The tan SUV involved in the collision remained at the scene, the supervisor said.
