No children were on school bus that hit light pole in south Wichita

A school bus slid off of I-235 and struck a light pole in south Wichita early Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The incident occurred at about 5:40 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-235 near the Seneca exit, a Kansas Highway Patrol dispatcher said. No children were on the bus at the time and the driver was not injured.

The crash occurred at milepost 3.1, the dispatcher said.
