Cha Cha the Constant Companion, a 10-year-old female short-coated Chihuahua mix, is available for adoption from Kansas Humane Society.

I’m a little shy at first but that’s just because I want to get to know you better. I’m looking to be the perfect addition to your home. I can just imagine all the fun we’re going to have together.

Also available:

•  Rue the Life of the Party, 1-year-old female Labrador retriever mix

Do you like going on walks and playing? I just love to be active. We could go to all the parks and even play fetch. You should come down to KHS to see just how much of a perfect match we are.

•  Davis the Leader of the Band, 11/2-year-old male cat, domestic shorthair mix

Don’t mind me. I’m just going to walk around and show you how awesome I am. I’m not shy at all, and if you have company over, I’ll be sure to greet them. Visit with me at KHS.

•  Margo the Secret Admirer, 3-year-old female Manx mix

When it comes to relationships, I'm very level-headed. I don't leap in paws first. But give me a little time, and then I'll shower you with purrs, head-butts and plenty of lap time. I can’t wait to meet you.

•  Thor the Rat, 6-month-old male rat

I am the mighty Thor; hear my voice and know my power! OK, as a rat I might not actually have superpowers, but I do have the power to steal your heart. Come down to KHS and visit with me. I’d make a great pet for a small home or first-time pet owner.
