KU student from Leavenworth found dead in residential hall

University of Kansas police are investigating the unattended death of a female student at Ellsworth Hall.

The deceased student was identified as Courtney Newman, a senior from Leavenworth. She was majoring in psychology and sociology and was a resident assistant at the dorm.

There was no evidence of foul play. No other details were released.

The university said, in a release, that counselors would be available at Ellsworth Hall.
