Wichita police are hoping security video will provide leads in an armed robbery at a Cricket store Wednesday night.
The man walked into the branch at 1547 S. Oliver shortly before 7:30 p.m. and cut the cord securing a phone to a display stand, Lt. Doug Nolte said. That activated an alarm, and a Cricket employee and a second person followed the man out of the store and demanded that he return the phone.
The suspect then pulled out a handgun and pointed it at them, Nolte said. They retreated and the man left.
They were unable to provide much of a description to officers, Nolte said, but investigators do have surveillance footage of the incident.
The suspect took at least one phone, Nolte said.
