University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita

The Live & Learn Lecture series offers free health lectures to the public from noon to 1:30 p.m. once a month in the Roberts Amphitheater at KU, 1010 N. Kansas. Seating is limited. Those who attend are welcome to bring their own lunch to eat during the lectures.

Via Christi Health

Via Christi’s Women’s Connection network offers lectures and events.

The noon March 12 lecture at Abode Venue, 1330 E. Douglas, is about sleep problems in children and teens by physician Jared Johnson in family medicine. Admission is $5. To register or to find out about future events, go to vcwomensconnection.com.

Via Christi 50+ is open to anyone age 50 and over. Memberships are $25 a year or $40 per couple.

The 11:30 p.m. March 20 lecture at Corporate Caterers, 2949 N. Rock Road, is on solutions for individuals with hearing loss by Susie Ternes, doctor of audiology. For information or to register call 316-689-5700. Admission is free to 50-and-older members and $5 for general public.

Via Christi also offers a variety of classes, including boot camps for new dads and lectures on parenting classes, weight loss, diabetes education and shapedown classes for children. For information go to viachristi.org/calendar-events.

Wesley Medical Center

Wesley Friends is open to those 50 and older and offers social programs, lunch and learn lectures, discounts on products and services. Memberships are $15 a year, or $25 for two people living in the same household. For information call, 316-962-8400.

Wesleykids.com offers symptom checker to help parents diagnose problems, administer correct doses, give first aid and know when to call the doctor.
