Eight Wichita nonprofits to receive money from Wal-Mart Foundation

Eight Wichita nonprofits will receive $276,000 from the Wal-Mart Foundation during a special presentation on Friday.

The nonprofits focus on hunger relief, women’s economic empowerment and career opportunities.

The nonprofits and the amount they will receive are:

The Kansas School for Effective Learning INC., $28,500; Inter-Faith Ministries, $40,000; Dress for Success, $30,000; Catholic Charities, $25,000; Union Rescue Mission, $65,000; Medical Service Bureau, $27,500; Goodwill Industries of Kansas, $10,000; and Kansas Food Bank of Warehouse, $50,000.
