On Monday night at Iowa State, Kansas basketball coach Bill Self won for the 500th time in his college coaching career. Here’s a look back at his milestone victories and his season-by-season records:

•  First victory: At Oral Roberts 78, Sam Houston State 66 (Nov. 26, 1993)

•  No. 50: Oral Roberts 96, at Stephen F. Austin 70 (Feb. 11, 1997)

•  No. 74: Tulsa 59, BYU 56 at WAC tournament in Las Vegas (Self’s first conference tournament win, March 3, 1998)

•  No. 97: Tulsa 62, College of Charleston 53 at NCAA Tournament in Charlotte, N.C. (Self’s first NCAA Tournament win, March 12, 1999)

•  No. 100: At Tulsa 97, Ark.-Pine Bluff 45 (Nov. 27, 1999)

•  No. 127: Tulsa 89, UNLV 62 at NCAA Tournament in Nashville, Tenn. (Self’s first 30-win season, March 17, 2000)
