  • Published Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at 12:13 a.m.

Each Monday, The Eagle highlights a government record that is available to the public. Open records help people keep government in check and help them better understand how government affects their lives.

For a complete list of You Oughta Know columns, go to www.kansas.com/oughta.

The record: Flight delay information at major airports across the country.

Why you’d want it: To prepare for travel delays for flights you or relatives or friends may be taking.

Where you get it: Go to the Federal Aviation Administration’s site about flight delays, www.fly.faa.gov. The map is color-coded by length of delay.

How much does it cost: The information is free.
