With a winter storm hitting the area, here is a list of closings or cancellations:
• Wichita public schools canceled classes Tuesday. Employees who work at non-attendance centers are to report to work at 9 a.m. The district said, in a news release, that school was canceled “due to the snowfall predicted overnight and the ability for students to travel safely to school in the morning.”
• No Butler Community College classes Tuesday.
• The All-City Honor Orchestras Concert and rehearsal scheduled for Tuesday at Century II will be rescheduled.
• Wichita Catholic schools closed Tuesday.
• Haysville schools closed Tuesday.
• Mulvane schools closed Tuesday.
• Maize schools closed Tuesday.
• Renwick schools closed Tuesday.
• Clearwater schools closed Tuesday.
• Andover schools closed Tuesday.
• Goddard schools closed Tuesday.
• Derby schools closed Tuesday.
• Rose Hill schools closed Tuesday.
• Circle schools closed Tuesday.
• Friends University has canceled day and night classes at all sites for Tuesday.
• Newman University is closed Tuesday.
• Cowley College is closed Tuesday.
• Custom Cupboards will be open on Tuesday. Start time is delayed to 8 a.m.
• Via Christi Clinic Wichita-area locations will remain closed Tuesday. Via Christi Hospital’s family medicine clinics on Emporia and Clifton will be closed in the a.m. and will be assessing whether to open later in the day. Via Christi Rehabilitation outpatient clinics are working with patients individually to address their needs for being seen or rescheduled.
• “Do This, Not That” class at Botanica on Tuesday, postponed until March 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
• The KanCare provider meeting that was set for Wednesday in Wichita has been canceled.
• YMCA classes have been canceled through noon Tuesday, but all facilities will be open regular hours.
• The city of Wichita Food Handlers Class scheduled for Monday night was canceled. The next regularly scheduled classes will be March 2 at 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and March 4 at 8:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 6 p.m. The next class offered in Spanish will be March 5 at 8:30 a.m.
• The Wichita Public Library’s Tuesday Topics program to be held Tuesday has been rescheduled for April 23.
• CityArts has canceled classes for Tuesday.
• The Together vision Mass and reception scheduled for Tuesday at St. Mary’s Cathedral has been canceled.
• KU School of Medicine-Wichita’s “Healthy cooking for breast cancer survivors” course scheduled for Wednesday has been postponed.
• Red Cross Good Neighbor Nutrition will be closed Tuesday.
• The Dyck Arboretum of the Plains in Hesston has rescheduled its 2013 Winter Lecture Series featuring a presentation from Tim McDonnell on “Trees You Should Plant in Kansas” for 6:30 p.m. on March 12.
• Meritrust Credit Union will delay opening its branches until 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
• East Wichita Business Association has canceled its February meeting planned for Tuesday.
