Via Christi Health has activated its emergency operations plan and incident command center for its Wichita-area hospitals and clinics due to inclement weather, according to Via Christi officials.
So far, the system is advising all staff not directly involved in patient care and support services to go home for the day and await a determination on staffing needs for Thursday.
Via Christi hospitals and clinics are also evaluating clinical staffing needs for all services.
The system is also calling physicians about elective procedures that may be postponed until the weather improves.
