The Kansas Department of Commerce said Monday it is accepting award nominations for Business Appreciation Month in June.

The program aims to recognize businesses for their contributions to the state and its communities.

Regional finalists are recognized at the annual Team Kansas/Kansas Calvary banquet, with one of the finalists selected for the Governor’s Award of Excellence.

Businesses are selected for the awards based on their expansion in Kansas, successful employee retention and recruitment, employee training and education, capital investment in the state and support of local communities, including schools, community events and economic development.

Nominations can be submitted online at kansascommerce.com/bam. For more information, call 785-296-7911.
