Nominations are being accepted for the Salute to Senior Service program to recognize the top senior citizen volunteers in the nation.

Entries will be taken through March 31 for Kansans 65 and older. They must serve at least 15 hours a month as volunteers.

The state winners will be selected by popular vote at SalutetoSeniorService.com. Online voting will be April 15-30.

A panel of senior-care experts will then pick the national honoree from the 50 state winners.

State winners will receive $500 to donate to a nonprofit organization of their choice. The national winner will receive $5,000 to donate.

The contest is sponsored by Home Instead, a franchisor of the Home Instead Senior Care network.

To nominate someone, go to www.SalutetoSeniorService.com and submit the nomination online or download the form and mail it to Salute to Senior Service, P.O. Box 285, Bellevue, NE. 68005.
