Police are seeking witnesses to the beating of a teenage boy Wednesday afternoon that was severe enough to send him to a local hospital.
The 15-year-old boy told his mother he was beaten by three other teens at about 1:15 p.m. Thursday in the 2600 block of North Pershing, Lt. Doug Nolte said. That’s northwest of 21st and Oliver.
The boy knew one of the three attackers, Nolte said. He was struck several times with a baseball bat and a brick.
He made it the few remaining blocks home, Nolte said, and his mother took him to Galichia Medical Center for treatment. He was treated for a broken finger, a hematoma on his head and numerous bruises and then released, a police report stated.
He was not being very cooperative with investigating officers, so police are hoping to hear from anyone who witnessed the attack, Nolte said.
