A man suspected in a double shooting that killed one person in Topeka was arrested Johnson County, Nebraska, following two gunfights with authorities.

Authorities said Michael Dean Engstrom, 33, previously had lived in Gardner, said the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department.

Engstrom was arrested by Johnson County (Nebraska) Sheriff’s Office. He allegedly robbed a convenience store and got into two gunfights with law enforcement, where one deputy was shot and suffered a non-life-threatening injury.

Engstrom is a suspect in a shooting that left a man dead and a woman injured near downtown Topeka Wednesday.
