A parolee wanted for failing to register has been arrested in Wichita, the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday.

DeShawn Henderson, 38, was arrested Monday in the 3000 block of South Broadway, the Sheriff’s Office said in an e-mail statement. He had been featured as a Crime Stoppers Registered Offender of the Week in October.

Henderson was convicted of two counts of indecent liberties with a child for crimes in Johnson County in 2003, state records show. He had been released from prison on parole to Sedgwick County in September. Within a week of beginning parole, he failed to report and was listed as an absconder, records show.
