An armed man robbed the Dollar General on East 21st Street on Sunday night, Wichita police said.

The man entered the store in the 200 block of 21st at about 8:40 p.m. and demanded that a clerk at one of the registers give him cash, Lt. Doug Nolte said. That store is between I-135 and Grove.

Customers entered the store, prompting the robber to hide, Nolte said. After they left, the robber re-emerged and collected money from the registers. He then left.

The suspect was dressed all in black, including a black hoodie and black shoes, the victims told police. He was armed with a handgun, Nolte said.
