The Wichita Business Coalition on Health Care has named Janet Hamous as its permanent executive director.
Hamous had been serving in the post in an interim capacity since August. She replaced Ron Whiting, who left to take a position at the Permanente Foundation in California.
She worked at Wesley Medical Center for more than 20 years, including as vice president of human resources, and she worked in similar positions for Via Christ Health and Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System.
Her appointment as permanent executive director was effective Feb. 1.
The coalition was launched in 2008 and has as its members nearly 50 companies, health care providers and insurance companies. The group’s members seek to lower health care costs and improve quality of care.
