How to find who is facing a warrant

  • Published Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at 11:32 p.m.

Each Monday, The Eagle highlights a government record that is available to the public. Open records help people keep government in check and help them better understand how government affects their lives.

For a complete list of You Oughta Know columns, go to www.kansas.com/oughta/.

The record: A searchable database of people who have warrants issued against them.

Why you’d want it: For public safety reasons.

Where you get it: Go to www.sedgwickcounty.org. Under the “How do I?” menu, click on the “Search Active Warrants” link. You may search by name. Or leave the name fields blank, and it will produce a list of everyone with a warrant.

How much does it cost: The information is free.
