Thunder loses at Tulsa in overtime

The Tulsa Oilers beat the Thunder 5-4 in a shootout Saturday night in Tulsa.

The Thunder fell behind 3-1 midway through the second period, allowing the Oilers to score three power-play goals. Wichita cut the lead to one on a goal by Chad Painchaud in the final minute of the second period, then drew even when Dave Inman scored on a power play at 8:58 of the third period. Tulsa regained the lead 21 seconds later, but the Thunder forced overtime with a goal by Neil Trimm at 18:59.

In the shootout, Tulsa’s first four shoots all beat Thunder goalie Torrie Jung. Matt Robinson was the only Thunder shooter to score in the shootout.

Ryan Menei scored two goals in regulation for Tulsa, and was also credited with the game-winner for his shootout goal .
