A man was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition Thursday night after he was found lying on a west Wichita street.

A Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said 911 had received several reports from callers who saw the man shortly after 10 p.m. near Ridge Road and Newell, south of Central.

A vehicle was stopped nearby, the supervisor said. She did not know whether it had hit the man.

He was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis for treatment, the supervisor said.
