The Catholic Diocese of Wichita will formally reopen the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Saturday with a dedication mass.

The 100-year-old cathedral, at Central and Broadway, and adjacent diocese office buildings have been closed for more than a year.

The service on Saturday morning will be attended by diocese and visiting clergy and is closed to the public.

The first mass open to the public will be Saturday at 5 p.m. That will be followed by a mass in Spanish at 7 p.m.
