Charlie Chandler, president and CEO of Intrust Bank, will be among those honored by the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce at its 2013 Honors Night.

The event recognizes individual, corporate and architectural achievement and will be April 16 at Beech Activity Center, 9710 E. Central.

“Honors Night celebrates an outstanding individual, exemplary corporate citizens, exceptional commitments to the community, and striking architectural achievements,” said Gary Plummer, president and CEO of the Chamber. “Each honor is bestowed in recognition of a unique contribution to the enhancement of our community.”

Chandler is the 2013 recipient of the Uncommon Citizen Award. Established in 1974, the award recognizes individuals who have served their community year after year in an extraordinary capacity – making outstanding contributions to the civic and cultural institutions in Wichita.

The Spirit of Wichita award will be given to Foulston Siefkin LLP. Established in 2002, this award is given to an organization that received the Over the Years Award at least 20 years ago, in recognition of its continued strength of employment, leadership, innovation, and community involvement.

This year’s Over the Years winners are: Airbus Americas Engineering, Inc.; Botanica, The Wichita Gardens; and Cox Machine Inc. The Over the Years Award recognizes companies and organizations for their long-standing performance as good civic citizens and as major contributors to the area’s economic well being.

GLMV Architecture is the winner of the Keeper of the Plains award, which recognizes outstanding local architectural construction. The firm won for its office revitalization of the historic Packard building at 1525 E. Douglas.

Tickets for the event are $90 a person or $720 for a table of eight. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. Formal invitations will be sent to Chamber members, but the general public is also invited to attend.
