Wichita police are investigating a robbery in which two women were robbed while they were in an east Wichita cafe.

Police were called to Juni’s Cafe in the 2900 block of North Rock Road shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday.

Two women inside the cafe reported that a white man in his late teens or early 20s came into the cafe, according to Sgt. Bart Brunscheen, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

The man held a silver handgun and demanded the two women’s purses.

“They said they were in fear of their lives,” Brunscheen said. “They gave over their purses.”

The man then fled the area.

Two other people saw the robbery in progress and reported it.

Police said the robber was wearing baggy blue jeans, a dark hoodie, a green Army coat, a red bandanna and work boots.
