A mock trial will be held 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Wichita Boathouse, 515 S. Wichita, examining the 2010 U.S. Supreme Court decision involving political campaign expenditures.

The event is being held on the third anniversary of the Supreme Court’s ruling on Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission that prohibited the federal government from restricting third-party political expenditures by corporations and unions.

The mock trial is entitled “Does your vote count?” and is being organized by We the People of Kansas, a Wichita grassroots group. It will look at how four issues — the environment, vulnerable citizens, elections and citizenry — have been affected by the ruling.
