Man sought after attacking girlfriend at hotel

  • Published Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at 2:17 p.m.

A night planned to celebrate their three-week anniversary of dating ended badly for a rural couple.

Wichita police are investigating a domestic violence incident in which a couple from outside the Wichita area came into the city to celebrate, according to Sgt. Bart Brunscheen, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

The couple had been at Jezebel’s, an adult entertainment club, when the 29-year-old man became upset with the woman because of a photo she had in her home of another man. Their argument continued early Sunday morning when the couple was at a hotel near 47th Street South and I-135.

The man pushed the woman through a glass window, then took a beer bottle and struck the 29-year-old woman in the head.

She was transported to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis.

Police have issued a warrant for the man’s arrest.
