Thunder ends skid with 3-2 win over Tulsa

The Thunder used power-play goals to break ties in the second and third periods and beat the Oilers 3-2 on Saturday night in Tulsa, ending a three-game losing streak for Wichita.

Kevin Young gave Wichita a 1-0 lead in the first period. Tulsa’s Ryan Menei tied the score with a goal 1:01 into the second period, but the Thunder regained the lead when RG Flath scored with a man advantage at 4:10.

Tulsa made it 2-2 early in the third preiod on Menei’s second goal of the night, Wichita wen back on top 3-2 less than two minutes later on Matt Summers’ power-play goal.

The teams will meet for the third consecutive day Sunday afternoon in Tulsa.
