The man whose body was found Wednesday morning near K-96 and Hillside has been identified as 34-year-old Shawn M. Lindsey, police said.

Lindsey’s death is still classified as “suspicious” because an autopsy did not provide a definitive cause of death, Lt. Doug Nolte said. Lindsey was last seen by his girlfriend at a west Wichita business Friday night, and she reported him missing Sunday night.

His body was found shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday in some brush off a frontage road by surveyors driving by the area, police have said. He had been dragged from the road into the woody area.

“We have a lot of leads,” Nolte said. “We have a lot of information. It’s just a matter of sorting out that information.”

Detectives are retracing Lindsey’s steps in the final hours and days of his life, Nolte said.

Information on when, where and how he died has not being released by police.

Police officials say Lindsey lived in Wichita, though a 2012 voter registration database listed a Derby address for him.
