WSU women beat Northern Iowa

Jessica Diamond hit a pair of free throws with 20 seconds left in the game to give Wichita State the breathing room it needed in a 60-57 victory over Northern Iowa on Saturday night in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Wichita State led by seven points at halftime and stretched the advantage to 45-32 before UNI began chipping away. The Panthers cut their deficit to 49-46 with 8:37 to play, but never took the lead.

The Shockers improved to 3-0 in Missouri Valley Conference play.

West Virginia 66, Kansas State 52 — Brittany Chambers scored 20 points, grabbed six rebounds and handed out five assists in a losing cause for Kansas State.

Brianna Craig hit four, three-pointers for 12 points for KSU. Former Collegiate star Ashia Woods had seven points, five rebounds and three steals for the Cats.

West Virginia’s bench outscored the KSU bench 14-3.
