Rapid City closes down Thunder attack

Rapid City broke a tie with two second-period goals in beat the Wichita Thunder 3-1 on Friday night in Rapid City, S.D.

Former Thunder goalie Tim Boron made 36 saves for the Rush.

The Rush took a 1-0 lead with a goal at 5:03 of the first period. The Thunder pulled even on Andrew Martens’ goal midway through the period.

Rapid City took control of the game with a power-play goal by Jordan Behler at 11:22 of the second period, and scored again five minutes later.

Forward Matt Robinson rejoined the Thunder on Friday. Robinson, who scored a team-leading 34 goals last season, began this season with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL.
