The Wichita State women’s team made its first eight shots and never trailed Thursday, beating Bradley 62-58 in Peoria, Ill.

The Shockers’ early hot shooting built a 17-7 lead, and WSU had a seven-point lead at halftime. The Shockers increased the advantage to 47-31 early in the second half. Bradley whittled the lead to two points, 58-56, with 5:01 left in the game. Jacobs and Jessica Diamond scored 14 points apiece for the Shockers, and Chynna Turner added 12. WSU (8-6, 2-0 MVC) won despite being outrebounded 41-29.
