— Officials in suburban Westminster hope to raise $150,000 to honor a 10-year-old girl who was abducted on her way to school and killed.

The city already has renamed a park the Jessica Ridgeway Memorial Park and improvements are planned, including new swings and gardens. The total cost is estimated at $450,000. The city has committed $200,000 in cash and donations, and the Jefferson County Commission is donating $100,000.

Jessica, who has relatives in the Kansas City area, disappeared Oct. 5. Her body was found several days later. Austin Sigg has been charged as an adult in the case.
