Police are investigating a report that a man was beaten by a group as he was walking in west Wichita early Sunday morning.

The 32-year-old man reported shortly before 6 a.m. on Sunday that he was walking near Central and Tracy earlier that morning when he was jumped and beaten by a group of four men, Lt. Doug Nolte said. They were in the yard of a house he had walked past, the victim said.

The victim was unable to provide much of a description and didn’t realize personal property had been taken until he was questioned by police, Nolte said. He had cuts, bruises and considerable swelling in his face, a police report stated.
