A father and son returning from witnessing Kansas State’s loss at the Fiesta Bowl this weekend discovered another loss had occurred while they were away, police said.

Someone broke through a bedroom window at their house in the 2100 block of South Green Acres, Lt. Doug Nolte said. That’s between Mount Vernon and the Kansas Turnpike in southeast Wichita.

The 34-year-old man and his 6-year-old son had been gone for three days when they returned and discovered that two televisions and a collection of more than 500 Ken Griffey Jr. baseball cards had been stolen, Nolte said. The thief left through a sliding glass door in the kitchen.
