Wichita police are looking for a teenager who goes by the street name “Scrappy” in connection with an attempted burglary Sunday night.

A 42-year-old man said he heard yelling and then a thumping sound at his front door shortly before 10 p.m. on Sunday in the 6800 block of West Par Lane, Wichita police Lt. Doug Nolte said. That’s southwest of Central and Ridge Road.

He discovered someone was trying to kick open his front door and, as he opened the door, he saw a boy running away, Nolte said. He gave a detailed description to 911, and officers responding to the call found a suspect matching the description with another teen.

After questioning, a 15-year-old boy and 18-year-old man were arrested in connection with the attempted burglary. The third suspect, who is 16, goes by the street name “Scrappy” and is 5-feet-9 and 170 pounds.
