A clerk at an AutoZone store on South Oliver Street reported an attempted robbery to police late Friday night.
The employee told police that a man wearing black clothing, a black bandana and a ball cap knocked on the front door of the store at 910 S. Oliver about 11:55 p.m.. The clerk went to the door but saw a handgun sticking out of the man’s hooded sweatshirt. The clerk then ran to the back of the store.
No one was injured, and nothing was stolen, Sgt. Jim Pinegar said.
The man left in a black four-door sedan, the clerk told police.
The store was closed at the time.
