Wichita police on Friday released the name of a victim in one of the first homicides of the year.

Adji Tampone, 29, is the man who was found shot to death in his home in the 700 block of South Rutan early Thursday morning, police Lt. Todd Ojile said.

Police so far have no suspects in that killing, Ojile said.

A police report said a 40-year-old woman reported that she found Tampone dead in his residence with a gunshot wound to his head about 2:14 a.m. Thursday.

Ojile said Friday that police have found Tampone’s 2003 Cadillac after it had been abandoned in the 1400 block of North Yale.

Anyone with information about the homicide can call police detectives at 316-268-4181 or Crimestoppers at 316-267-2111, Ojile said.
