Poker tourney to raise money for breast cancer fight

The third annual Cards for the Cure: The Kansas Poker Championship, which raises money to fight breast cancer, will be held Jan. 26 at the Hyatt Regency Wichita.

Individual and team prizes will be awarded. Teams can have up to 10 members. The top individual will win $10,000. The first-place team will win up to $2,000 in gift cards.

There also is a VIP party on Jan. 25 at the Hampton Inn & Suites at the Kansas Star Casino, which will feature local celebrities, food, drinks and a live band.

Tickets are $100 per person for the tournament and $20 for the VIP party. All proceeds will benefit the Mid-Kansas affiliate of the Susan G. Komen organization. To register yourself or a team, visit CardsForTheCure.com.
