Thunder goalie Kevin Regan turned back 31 shots, leading Wichita to a 5-1 victory over the Quad City Mallards on Wednesday night in Moline, Ill.
The victory snapped a two-game losing streak for the Thunder, which began with a loss to the Mallards on Saturday in Wichita.
Aaron Boogaard gave the Thunder a 1-0 lead with his first goal of the season midway through the first period. Greger Hansen and Neil Trimm scored goals 24 seconds apart late in the second period to break open the tight contest. Neil Trimm and Dustin Donaghy added third-period goals.
Regan stopped all 22 shots he faced in the first 40 minutes. Quad Citys only goal came at 9:22 of the third period and cut Wichitas lead to 4-1.
The Thunder returns to action Friday against the Mavericks in Independence, Mo., the third of six consecutive road games.
