Wichita police are investigating a shooting Wednesday night where the victim showed up at a QuikTrip at 13th and Oliver.
The man appeared to have a gunshot wound to the chest, according to an initial report to emergency dispatchers. He was taken in critical condition to Wesley Medical Center. The shooting was reported at 7:11 p.m.
The man, in his early 40s, drove to the QuikTrip and told a customer from his car that he had been shot, Wichita police Sgt. Don Story said Wednesday.
Based on the initial investigation, it wasn't clear where the man had been shot, but police were investigating a report of shots fired nearby in the 1700 block of Northeast Parkway, Story said.
