Despite hearing a gunshot in Old Town early on the morning of New Year’s Day, Wichita police were unable to find evidence or witnesses.

“At least one gunshot” was heard just before 1:30 a.m. in the 200 block of North Mosley, Lt. Doug Nolte said. Officers heard the noise and saw several people running from a parking garage, but when they went to investigate they found no shell casings or bullet holes.

Several people were questioned and one person was arrested on an unrelated offense, Nolte said, but no one was able to provide officers with additional information.

Anyone with knowledge about the incident is encouraged to call 911 or the police investigations section at 316-268-4646, Nolte said.
