A 40-year-old man was robbed in the 4900 block of East Lincoln on Saturday night after a man knocked on his door and asked whether he could come inside, police said.

Once inside, he pulled out a knife, pointed it at the man and woman who were at the house, and demanded money.

The victim gave him $4 and the man fled.

Police are reminding people not to let anyone you don’t recognize inside your house. If someone needs help or needs to use the phone, offer to call 911 for the person, said Sgt. Bart Brunscheen, a spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

“Be cautious,” Brunscheen said. “There’s no need to let someone in to use your phone.”
