Pedestrian hit by car near 13th, Broadway

A pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle near 13th and Broadway, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said.

The collision happened around 9:35 p.m. Friday near Church’s Chicken, a restaurant located in the 1300 block of North Broadway. The driver of the vehicle that hit the pedestrian called 911 to report the accident, the dispatch supervisor said.

The victim is a man in his 30s, the supervisor said. He was taken by ambulance to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis for treatment.

The Wichita Police Department’s accident follow-up team responded to investigate the accident, the dispatch supervisor said.
